Coming Soon announces that Open Road Films has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to the computer animated family film The Nut Job. The film is now scheduled to open January 17, 2014. The Nut Job features the voice talents of Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Katherine Heigl, and Brendan Fraser. It is described as “an action-packed comedy in fictional Oakton that follows the travails of Surly (voiced by Will Arnett), a mischievous squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy, who plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions and unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a much more complicated and hilarious adventure.”
