Schoolhouse Rock, the long-running animated series that taught generations of children about multiplication, grammar, science, and history, celebrates its 40th anniversary this month according to CNN. The series ran from 1973-1985 and then 1993-1999. Bob Dorough, who wrote and performed many of the songs, talked with news outlets this week and performed a couple of favorites for a crowd of over a thousand at the Kennedy Center. He isn’t surprised that the show connected and still resonates with kids. NPR has an audio interview with Dorough with a transcript. CBS has an audio interview as well. For those feeling nostalgic, several of the videos are available on YouTube.
