Samurai Jack fans should rejoice because the time-traveling samurai is back in dead-tree format. Cartoon Network has partnered with IDW to publish new comics based on the hit cartoon. “Samurai Jack is an irresistible mix of high adventure, comedy and mythic storytelling,” said series writer Jim Zub (Skullkickers), who will be joined by Andy Suriano, a character designer on the original Samurai Jack television series. Genndy Tartakovsky will draw variant covers for the first five issues. Jack’s mission to defeat the evil overlord Aku and return to his proper place in time continues in October.
