Voice actor Carlos Alazraqui tells the Comedy Film Nerds about voicing El Chupacabra in the Planes trilogy, confirming that Disney is already planning two follow-ups to this summer’s Cars spinoff. The first sequel, Planes 2: Fire and Rescue, was teased last June.
Alazraqui also notes that Roger Craig Smith, Grey DeLisle and Rob Paulsen have joined the cast of Planes. However, as previously reported, one actor who will no longer be with them is Jon Cryer, formerly cast as lead character Dusty Crophopper – and now an online source hints why. At Working Author, someone close to the production, wishing to remain anonymous, explains that “as the story has changed and evolved so did our creative vision for Dusty’s voice.” Dane Cook will now voice Dusty, Disney announced yesterday.
