The long-rumored fifth installment in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has scored a writer, Variety is reporting. Disney has hired Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can0 to write the script. No word on when production is set to begin, or if characters from the previous films other than Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow are set to make a return. But with the first four movies making a combined worldwide total of $3.5 billion, it seems that Disney will get this going sooner rather than later.
