One of the most infamous musical numbers in Oscar history occurred in 1989 at the 61st Academy Awards when Rob Lowe and an unauthorized-by-Disney Snow White performed an excruciating 15 minute song and dance number with several uncomfortable stars in the audience as props. The producer behind the segment never worked in Hollywood again, Disney sued the Academy, and Lowe would have other reasons to rehabilitate his image soon. Not talked about a lot since then is the then 22 year old actress who thought she was getting her big break on Oscar night. Eileen Bowman, now 46, talks with The Hollywood Reporter about what an Academy spokesman (with tongue in cheek) called “an important piece of Hollywood history [that] should never be forgotten”.
