Christmas started early at the box office this weekend, and movies performed more or less as they were expected to. Saving Mr. Banks got off to a decent start with $9 million, which may seem small on the surface, but it’s important to remember that the movie cost Disney only $30 million to make. The same can’t be said for Fox’s Walking With Dinosaurs, which cost at least $80 million, and opened to just $7 million. Disney’s Frozen, meanwhile, continued to be a massive hit, dropping just 15% for a weekend take of $19 million. It has made $191 million to date. Collider has the full top ten.
