One way to make Disney mad is to masquerade as a normal tourist family and then secretly shoot a nightmarish film at the theme parks. The Mouse House might be upset, but they are allowing the movie called Escape from Tomorrow to be shown in theaters next month. Inside the Magic has the trailer and Entertainment Weekly comments on how the movie shows the Magic Kingdom in less than “the happiest place on Earth” light. The plot concerns a father who finds out on the last day of his Disney family vacation he has been fired and the surreal insanity that follows. The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year to a mixed response and many thought it would not see a commercial release. No word on why Disney is allowing it to screen, but it’s possible they feel that doing otherwise would just give them bad press.
