A relatively small animated film is causing a big stink in the courts according to The Hollywood Reporter. Writer-director Tony Leech and film producer Brian Inerfeld, two of the people behind the surprise hit Hoodwinked claim that The Weinstein Co. have “sabotaged” their followup project, Escape From Planet Earth, and cost them millions. The Weinstein’s say the pair are just “vindictive Hollywood talent”. With just a week until the film opens, a judge has let some of the plaintiffs off the hook, a financing company, but the case will continue against the studio.
