DreamWorks Animation’s The Croods had no trouble topping the box office charts this weekend, earning a healthy $44 million in America, THR is reporting. More good news for the film could be found overseas, where the movie made $63 million over 47 markets, giving the comedy a worldwide total of $108 million. Even better, the Chris Sanders-directed movie got an A CinemaScore from audiences, making it one of the only films of 2013 so far to get that rating. DreamWorks is hoping that word of mouth and many kids having spring break next week will help give The Croods solid legs for them.
