To help start one’s week, The Hollywood Reporter delivers news of a good deed: The Animation Guild, Local 839 of IATSE, provided 64 pizzas for lunch Saturday for the employees of visual effects house Rhythm & Hues. Last month, Rhythm & Hues – whose artists won an Oscar this year for their work on Life of Pi – filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, laying off around 254 workers. To save costs, the FX house also eliminated lunch and dinner during overtime. Hence, Rhythm & Hues employees were happy to see the pizzas with a note that read, “Heard you were hungry,” signed by The Animation Guild.
