A sequel to last year’s critically adored The Muppets is apparently in the works, Vulture is reporting. In what will be unfortunate news for some fans, however, it seems unlikely at this point that Jason Segel is involved with the script at this point, which is a shame since he was heavily involved with the first film’s screenplay. Whether or not he’ll be in the sequel is also unknown, but Muppets director James Bobin is set to return, as is co-writer Nicholas Stroller. There is currently no release date for the project.
