Just in time for the big Thanksgiving weekend, DreamWorks Animation’s much anticipated Rise of the Guardians (no, not a sequel to the movie about the owls) opens in theaters everywhere today. So far the movie has been met with holiday spirit from critics, who gave it a 76% “freshness” rating over at RottenTomatoes.com. Although no one is expecting it to take the crown from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2 this weekend, it is set for a solid second place debut, with the Weekend Warrior giving it $47 million for its first five days of release.
