The Lone Ranger will be riding into the box office sunset a little later than anticipated. Superhero Hype! is reporting that Disney, apparently wanting to distance themselves from The Fast and the Furious 6 next May, has decided to instead release the movie on July 3td, 2013. Unfortunately, this will put the film against Despicable Me 2 and the just announced re-release of ID4 in 3-D, so the Johnny Depp western will face some heavy competition. In other release date news, Disney has bumped Thor 2 up from its original Thanksgiving 2013 release date, and will now kick off the holiday movie season on November 8th. This will give it some space from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which is set to come out just two weeks later.
