Jan Berenstain–the co-author of the beloved children’s book series The Berenstain Bears–has passed away at age 88, The New York Times is reporting. She wrote the books with her husband Stan, who passed away in 2005. In addition to being the subject of more than 50 books, The Berenstain Bears were also the stars of two cartoon shows, TV specials, and a live-action/animated movie that’s currently in the works.
