Toei Animation announced the loss of one of its earliest animators Akira Daikubara. He worked on Japan’s first colored anime film Hakujaden and also the first animated film to be distributed in North America Magic Boy. He had a pneumatic infection, dying at age 94. On the brighter side, Toei recently selected Katushiro Takagi to head the animation company. Takagi has worked at the company for over 30 years and he hopes to increase international relationships and expand animation.
