There are Disney myths (i.e. Walt Disney being cryogenically frozen) and there are Disney facts, such as Walt Disney and Grigori Rasputin. When Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion was built in the 1960s, Disney thought about using Rasputin’s image (“holy man” and advisor to Czarina Alexandria–wife of Russia’s last czar Nicholas II and mother of the famous Anastasia). Disney was afraid of being sued by Rasputin’s descendants, so the paintings were redesigned. Go figure!
