Even though it has yet to play in the US, Blue Sky Animation’s Rio scored a big win around the world to win the foreign box office, Variety is reporting. The musical comedy had the best opening ever for an animated movie in Brazil–which is where the film takes place–, and a worldwide weekend total of $55 million. Meanwhile in the states, Universal’s Hop won its second domestic weekend in a row–becoming the first movie of the year to stay on top for more than one week–with a take of $21 million.
