Hayao Miyazaki dabbled in manga before he became a renowned storyteller. His first original manga People of the Desert (Sabaku no Tami) is available online from The Ghibli Blog. Miyazaki worked at Toei Daga as an animator when he wrote this manga and you can see how his style evolved while making it.
