The first images from Tim Burton’s highly anticipated return to stop motion animation Frankenweenie have been posted online with a special behind-the-scenes article over at EW.com. The movie–a remake of a live-action short film that Burton made which ironicly got him fired from Disney due to its dark concept–tells the story of a boy who brings his beloved dog back from the dead after a tragic accident claims its life.  Disney, of course, found success with Burton later on with the releases of The Nightmare Before Christmas and Alice in Wonderland, which is something the studio hopes to find when Frankenweenie comes to theaters next year, in glorious black and white 3-D.
