Apparently hoping to do for boys what their Tinker Bell franchise has done for girls, Disney has just announced plans to produce a series of films based off of Pixar’s Cars universe called Planes. The films will apparently take place in the same world in which Lightning McQueen and Mater live, with the only difference being that the main characters will be jets an helicopters instead of cars and trucks. The first film is set to come to DVD and Blu-Ray from Disney’s Toon Studios sometime is 2013.
