Following months of speculation surrounding who would play famous reporter Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot–or if the character would even be in the film at all–, Hero Complex reports that the role has gone to none other than critical darling Amy Adams. Perhaps best known for playing Giselle in Disney’s Enchanted, Adams is a three-time Academy Award nominee, and the “clear choice” to play the part of Ms. Lane, according to director Zack Snyder. “There was a big, giant search for Lois,” the Sucker Punch helmer said. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.” The still untitled movie is currently planning a December 2012 release, while Sucker Punch is playing in theaters now.
