M. Night Shyamalan’s live action version of Nickelodeon’s popular cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender opens in theaters everywhere across the US today. Although its been considered an anticipated movie on many fan sites for a while now, The Last Airbender (Avatar was removed from the picture’s title in order to avoid any confusion with a certain James Cameron film) has been getting mostly negative reviews so far, currently standing with a 6% “freshness” rating over at RottenTomatoes.com. ComingSoon.Net’s The Weekend Warrior is expecting this to hurt the movie slightly, but is still anticipating a decent opening weekend of $33 million.
