Nickelodeon has officially greenlit a new series based off of their popular cartoon show Avatar: The Last Airbender. The new storyline will take place 70 years after the events of the first show, and will focus on a new Avatar, a teenage girl named Korra. The original Avatar series was one of the most popular in Nickelodeon’s history among older kids, and was the inspiration for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, which has made more than $115 million at the box office so far.
