DreamWorks Animation’s MegaMind was able to easily rule the box office this weekend, with a very solid debut of $47 million, Box Office Mojo is reporting. Although it made slightly less than some were anticipating, the animated comedy is expected to have strong legs, especially since Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will no longer be a 3-D release. Because of that, it will face no competition for its 3-D screens until Disney’s Tangled comes to theaters at the end of the month.
