As has been reported here in the past, the Looney Tunes are making a return to the big screen, beginning today with a Wile E. Coyote cartoon being attached to 3-D prints of Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore. At least two more such computer animated shorts are planned for the future, with one appearing before this September’s Legend of the Guardians and the other appearing in front of this holiday season’s Yogi Bear. “We are thrilled to be presenting these characters for the first time in 3D, which will heighten the excitement and humor of the chase, not to mention the impact—at least for Wile E,” said Dan Fellman, president of distribution at Warner Bros. “We’re sure these three new adventures will entertain a new generation of fans while reminding us all why these two characters have been beloved for so long.” ComingSoon.net has more information on the project, along with a batch of new images from the first short in the series.
