DreamWorks Animation is fighting a lawsuit against Terence Dunn, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dunn, a writer, claims he proposed the idea of a “spiritual kung fu fighting panda bear” to the animation studio back in November 2001. His idea was rejected, but only months after his chat with DreamWorks, they began to promote Kung Fu Panda. The case has already gone to court and the judge ruled that Dunn and his lawyer will be able to gather evidence DreamWorks’s internal financial records to support his case. Another trial date is set for 2011.
