Cartoons have proven themselves this year by claiming four spots on the highest grossing films list for 2010, according to Forbes. Disney raked in over $2 billion with their films this year with Toy Story 3 at the top of the list. DreamWorks with Shrek Forever After and How To Train Your Dragon follow behind Disney, while Despicable Me makes itself known. The film was produced on a small budget for an animated movie, $70 million, and earned about eight times its production costs. It was a surprise hit for Universal Studios. Other films on the list with animated special effects were Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans.
