USA Today has an exclusive first look at Sony’s upcoming live action/animated Smurfs movie, currently aiming for release next summer. In addition to including a first official image from the film, the article reveals some new details about the movie’s plot, including that villain Gargamel will not be trying to devour the Smurfs in the story, with his goal instead being to capture them and use them as magic charms. A first trailer is set to debut online tomorrow over at Yahoo! Movies.
