A sequel to Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal, which has been rumored about for years, has now been put into production, according to ComingSoon.net. The film will reportedly combine traditional puppetry with CGI special effects to create its fantasy world. Little is known about the plot at this point, but it will take place “hundreds of years” after the events of the original, and will focus on a mysterious girl who steals a shard of the Dark Crystal in order to save the planet’s dying sun. Currently titled Power of the Dark Crystal, the sequel is without a release date at the moment.
