Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group president Mark Zoradi is leaving the company after 29 years, according to the LA Times. Following what many considered a surprise ousting of Dick Cook earlier this year (and the less reported leaving of Miramax Films President Daniel Battsek last month) it appears a major shakeup is going down at Walt Disney Studios. LA Times sources say, “Disney’s marketing and distribution operations are expected to undergo restructuring as Iger moves to position the studio for a future that includes digital distribution of movies and shortening the period between a film’s release in theaters and the home.”
