Well…not exactly, but in his first two months into his new television deal at Sony, director Barry Sonnenfeld (the Addams Family and Men In Black movies, and a producer on Enchanted) has projects set up at three broadcast networks, including The Nelsons for ABC. The premise may sound familiar to fans of Brad Bird’s The Incredibles: “It is a metaphor of what it is like to be a supermom and overworked dad in modern times,” Sonnenfeld told The Hollywood Reporter. Although the title of Sonnenfeld’s show is tentative, those in the know will recall that Bird’s Mr Incredible was voiced by Craig T Nelson, suggesting further comparisons. The superhero family show’s pilot will be written by Peter Steinfeld and Dee Steinfeld, with Sonnenfeld possibly directing. No casting or air date has yet been announced.
