Steven Spielberg will start shooting one of three Tintin movies this Fall, according to Variety. The Academy Award winning director had revealed last October that he would direct the second installment of the trilogy in the United States with Peter Jackson helming the first in New Zealand but it sounds like the two might have swapped projects after Spielberg had to postpone the shoot of The Trial of the Chicago Seven; a director has yet to be confirmed for the third and final chapter of the Tintin trilogy though Spielberg and Jackson didn’t rule out the possibility of directing it together. WETA will produce the motion caption animation for all three films in which Andy Serkis will give life to Captain Haddock and Thomas Sangster is expected to play the title character. A longstanding Tintin fan, Spielberg has been looking to make a film version of the comic books for over 25 years.
