GhibliWorld has the English summary of an interview with Hayao Miyazaki wherein he talks about his new film Ponyo on a Cliff, giving away a little about the storyline of the film. Miyazaki adds that while there are not too many characters in his new film, the sea itself is like a character. Miyazaki says, “I animated the sea not as a background, but as a main character.”
