Animation Xpress reports that First Serve Toonz has teamed with the BBC to produce a new animated series based on the iconic Marvel character, Wolverine. The BBC has secured the television rights in the UK for the first series of 26 episodes, Liberation Ent. will handle the rights worldwide, while in the U.S. Marvel will represent the 2D animated series. “The Wolverine scripts were amongst the best we have ever read and the show promises to be a highly involving experience for the audience. We are extremely proud to be part of this new animation franchise.” stated Jesse Cleverly, Head of CBBC Co-Productions and Acquisitions.
