USA TODAY reports that 14 US cities by the name of Springfield are competing for best “real life” version of The Simpsons’ famous hometown. The Springfield that wins will get the honor of hosting the world premiere of The Simpsons Movie on July 26th. Each Springfield will have to submit a three to five-minute film showcasing each community’s “Simpson Spirit” by June 28th. The films will be posted on USAToday.com for site readers to select the Springfield that most deserves to host the premiere. Voting ends on July 9th, and the winning city will be announced on or around July 10th.
