In the article “A Tale of Two Tinker Bells,” Chuck Oberleitner explains an interesting scenario that is said to have occurred behind the scenes of Tinker Bell, in which two versions of the film were allegedly being prepared. One version was to suit Walt Disney Feature Animation Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter, while another one was tailored to please DisneyToon Studios president Sharon Morrill. “For quite some time, when John [Lasseter] would return to check on our progress,” said a Toon Studios’ artist, “he’d be shown one version of the film – his version. At the same time we also had Sharon’s version in the works.” With that said, it appears that any conflicts have been resolved, as the company now pushes toward a Fall 2008 release for Tinker Bell.
