The Associated Press via Yahoo! News notes that today, May 22, 2007, would have marked the 100th birthday of Tintin creator Georges Prosper Remi, commonly referred to by his pen name, Herge. Although the artist died March 3, 1983, the article notes that his work is still very revered. Exhibits featuring Tintin may be found in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden. Likewise, on Monday, the first stone was placed for an Herge Museum outside Brussels. In the meantime, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are helping keep Tintin fresh in the minds of today’s generation, readying a Tintin motion-captured film trilogy.
