The Wayans Family’s Thugaboo to Make Online Debut

THUGABOO cast of charactersThe Wayans Family will present the online premiere of their first animated special Thugaboo: Sneaker Madness beginning April 7th, 2007 on Thugaboo.com. Shawn and Marlon Wayans will serve as hosts for the online premiere which will be available for viewing free-of-charge April 7th through April 14th, 2007.

In the tradition of Charlie Brown and Fat Albert, Thugaboo takes a humorous look at the trials and tribulations of nine very different kids. Boasting an impressive all-star voice cast, Shawn and Marlon Wayans are joined by sister Kim Wayans (In Living Color), Michael Rapaport (Dr. Doolittle 2), George Gore II (My Wife & Kids), Aries Spears (Mad TV), David Alan Grier (Life With Bonnie) and Charlie Murphy (Chappelle’s Show).

Written and produced by the Wayans brothers, the first special entitled The Wayans Family Presents…Thugaboo: Sneaker Madness, debuted to acclaim on Nickelodeon in August 2006. The premise of the first special is a familiar back-to-school story that most anyone can relate to and learn from. Featuring cool, contemporary original music that both kids and adults will enjoy, the main character D-Roc struggles to prepare for a new school term within his mother’s limited budget. In the process, he learns that it’s not what you wear on the outside, but who you are on the inside that matters most.

Thugaboo is The Wayans Family’s homegrown moniker for kids who may appear hard on the outside, but are simply soft, normal, curious children on the inside. Through their friendships and adventures growing up in “Boo York City”, D-Roc and his pals learn valuable lessons about everything from the importance of family to maintaining self-esteem and pursuing one’s goals.
