Yesterday, it was reported that The Walt Disney Co. and the team of Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey are uniting to form a new motion capture company. Today, Jim Hill speculates on the deal, considering the future of animation at Disney. According to Hill’s inside sources, one of the projects currently being considered for the new company may involve the John Carter of Mars rights that Disney recently acquired. Meanwhile, the number of films from Walt Disney Feature Animation will supposedly be cut back to a traditionally animated picture every two or three years.
