Manchester Evening News and DigitalSpy report that Nick Jr. has acquired the rights to create a new CGI series based on the classic children’s TV show,The Magic Roundabout. The new series will be animated in France and will use the same character models as the recent 2006 movie. Nickelodeon UK managing director Howard Litton stated: “The original Magic Roundabout TV series was a charming cultural phenomenon which entertained generations of children and we’re delighted to bring back Dougal, Zebedee and the rest of the Magic Roundabout cast to British TV screens. The beautiful CGI animated adventures are sure to be a big hit with today’s discerning young viewers.”
