In its annual shareholder meeting today, The Walt Disney Co. released an update regarding its upcoming traditionally animated musical The Frog Princess. Directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the film features the newest Disney Princess, “Maddy, a young African- American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter.” Other details on Frog Princess disclose, “From the heart of Louisiana’s mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.” During the shareholder presentation, preliminary drawings for Frog Princess were showcased, as well as one of the tunes Randy Newman has composed for the picture.
