The official website for Turner Classic Movies spotlights two publications for animation fans. The first of these books is The Art of Ray Harryhausen, now available. “Concise essays and lavish illustrations look at each of Harryhausen’s many specialties, including aliens, prehistoric, creatures, mythological monsters, and much more,” describes the site. The second book TCM highlights is The Animated Man: A Life of Walt Disney, scheduled for a April 28 release. The work is explained as, “In a storyteller’s lively prose, [Michael] Barrier describes how Disney transformed himself from Midwestern farm boy to scrambling young businessman to pioneering artist and finally to entrepreneur on a grand scale.” Both books may be purchased through Amazon.com
