With three nominations, Monster House is the top animated title among the nominees for the 33rd annual Saturn Awards. The film will go against Cars, Flushed Away, Happy Feet, Over the Hedge and A Scanner Darkly for “Best Animated Film.” Concurrently, Mitchel Tate Musso, the voice of D.J. in Monster House, is in the running for “Best Performance by a Younger Actor,” while House composer Douglas Pipes is in the running for “Best Music.” Movies listed for “Best Special Effects” include X-Men: The Last Stand, The Fountain, Mission: Impossible III, Charlotte’s Web, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Superman Returns. Meanwhile, Bambi II could land the “Best DVD Release” award, as Star Trek: The Animated Series will boldly go for “Best DVD Retro Television Release.”
