Hoping to promote Japan’s animation past, present, and future, Tokyo has opened the Tokyo Anime Center in Akihabara, which is being billed as the first global animation center. The center is the result of participation from over 100 companies in production, publishing, television, advertising and toys. Not only does the Tokyo Anime Center aim to educate fans of the art form, but it wishes to train anime artists as well. The AFP, in association with Yahoo! News, has more on the announcement.
