The Los Angeles Times focuses on the inspiration and philosophies of Dr. Ed Catmull, president of the combined Pixar and Disney animation studios. Respectfully referring to the ideas as “Ed-isms,” the four-page piece notices Catmull’s theories that are continuing to shape Pixar – and now Walt Disney Feature Animation – in the right direction.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press via Yahoo! Movies takes a look at regular Pixar player John Ratzenberger. Telling the interesting connection between Cars’ Mack the truck and Ratzenberger’s father, the piece also delves into why the comedic actor has turned down numerous films and voice roles he has been offered. “I only want to be involved in projects that I can sit there with my kids and not be embarrassed by, not be ashamed of,” commented Ratzenberger. “I just don’t want to be part of that message that adults, authority figures, are stupid and only kids are smart because in the real world it doesn’t work that way.”
