Nickelodeon Movies and MTV Films are becoming full labels for the Paramount Motion Picture Group, ending their 12-year runs as production companies. Thus, the duo will join a lineup that includes Paramount Pictures, DreamWorks SKG, Paramount Vantage and Paramount Classics. Coming Soon has more on this development. Nickelodeon Movies has handled numerous animated movies based on such properties as Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys, Hey Arnold! and Spongebob Squarepants. The company’s latest venture, Barnyard, is currently playing in theaters, while its CGI turn for the Smurfs is on the way as well.
