Through American Digital Networks, Nickelodeon provides an official press release for its 2007/08 lineup, set to include 125 brand-new Nicktoons episodes. Joining all-new adventures of Spongebob Squarepants will be El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and Tak and the Power of Juju. In addition, Nick’s schedule will include an animated offering from Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler, titled Mighty B. This abundance of animation at Nickelodeon should come as no surprise to folks who have read the New York Times‘ piece “SpongeBob SquareProfits: Nickelodeon Swears by Cartoons,” which explains the importance of cartoons for the network. As Cyma Zarghami, the president of Nickelodeon, explains, “Animation really is the heart and soul of our business.”
