James Cameron speaks on his upcoming adventure Avatar, with “follows a paraplegic war veteran who is brought to another planet inhabited by a humanoid race at odds with Earth’s citizens.” The film, set for a summer 2008 release, will make heavy use of the same performance capture technology that the upcoming Monster House employs. “It’s a very, very big project where the shooting is like a month and a half – not really very much,” says Cameron. “There’s just so much CG (computer-generated), and the visual effects are a huge component. A lot of it is performance capture. We use different techniques, but it’s the same general idea.” More on this story may be found through Reuters, via Yahoo! Movies.
