The Big Cartoon Database reports that organizers of the World Ice Art Championships are looking to host the premiere of Ice Age 2: The Meltdown. With talks already in progress with the film’s distributor, 20th Century Fox, plans for the premiere include such unique features as ice sculptures of Ice Age 2’s characters, a children’s play area with an icy waterslide and tunnel slide, and a possible ice theater for the movie’s showing. Furthermore, Ice Age 2 stars Ray Romano, Queen Latifa, John Leguizamo, and Jay Leno may even arrive at the event via sled dog teams, rather than the usual Hollywood limos. “This would be the greatest opening of any film ever. I know what we can create with ice,” said Dick Brickley, chairman of Ice Alaska, sponsor of ice-carving festival in Fairbanks.
